A well-established Managed Services provider based in Bristol are looking to recruit an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their dynamic and expanding business which is going from strength to strength.
As a 2nd Line engineer you will ideally come from a Managed Service background or have industry experience of delivering IT support to external customers. However, this is not essential.
To be considered for this exciting 2nd Line position, you will have MOST of the following skills/experience:
Solid 2nd line support experience (at least 3 years exp in 2nd line support).
An enthusiastic and dynamic personality.
Experience with Windows operating Systems & Windows Servers (including Windows server 2008/2012/2012 R2 & 2016).
Any experience with MAC OSX would be a plus
Virtualisation - either VMware or Hyper-V
Office 365
Exchange
Networking skills
Backups such as Veeam or anything similar
SQL knowledge - Desirable
Key Responsibilities for a 2nd Line support engineer:
This will include maintaining backup infrastructure, server infrastructure (Windows Server based on Hyper V or VMware, or Small-Business Server and equivalents), networks, cloud and client operating systems.
Be responsible for 2nd Line support work, solving tickets.
As a 2nd Line support analyst you will be responsible for 2nd Line Reactive Support work, solving Reactive User-generated tickets. This will include dealing directly with IT users and stakeholders both remotely and at client locations.
Support and provide escalation support for 1st Line support tickets and assist the First Line team when deemed necessary.
Work closely and provide assistance to the project teams when needed.Ability to build strong and long-lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Actively mentor Junior staff members on the Service Desk. This will include inducting, training, monitoring, supporting and developing his or her team members knowledge and effectiveness.
There will be a need to be part of an on-call rota in the future and a full UK driving licence is desirable.
