An exciting opportunity has become available for an Assistant Estimator to join an established business, based near Andover.

The successful Assistant Estimator will join a Pre-Contracts team, where you will support the Senior Estimators and the Commercial Director in managing and coordinating all aspects of tenders from initial enquiry and qualifying job-specific information through to breaking down the project once secured to give the factory the allowances to manufacture.

Key skills required for an Assistant Estimator:

• Strong numerical skills and ability to interpret data.

• Experience working as a Carpenter, Joiner, site fixer or CAD technician.

• Ability to read technical drawings.

• A good understanding of manufacturing processes and site installations would be desirable but this is not essential as training will be provided.

• Proactive in managing workload.

• Excellent communication skills

Key responsibilities for an Assistant Estimator:

• Providing competitive estimates for windows, doors, and staircase joinery packages.

• Responsible for liaising with customers and sales members to understand their requirements and produce competitive and negotiated quotations for projects ranging from £10,000 to £1,500,000.

• Use internal estimating and take-off systems to accurately cost projects.

• Liaise with the Sales, Marketing and Estimating Team during the tender process.

• Produce sub-contract and material enquires.

• Answer sub-contractor and supplier queries and appraising quotations.

• Checking tender documents, making amendments where required.

• Identifying scope for design alternatives and value engineering

• Filling in documents to identify the correct scope to send to sub-contract installation teams to receive fixed lump sum installation prices.
