An exciting opportunity has become available for a Controls Design Engineer or Software Engineer with C++ experience to join a very well-regarded business based in Coventry.

Salary - dependant on experience + bonus + benefits

Key skills required for a Software Engineer:

• Have experience writing structured text software for PLC’s or C++

• Have experience in electrical systems design

• Experience of fault finding on electrical systems

• Good general engineering understanding and knowledge

• You'll ideally hold an HND/degree in a relevant engineering discipline

• An aptitude for problem-solving and the ability to develop solutions for complex problems

• Effective communicator at both a technical and project level to all stakeholders

• Excellent organisation skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Have experience of CE or UKCA marking

• Have experience of industrial networking (Profinet or other protocols)

Key responsibilities for a C++ Controls Design Engineer:

The Controls Design Engineer will focus on the design of Control Systems. You will work with a Controls Manager, Mechanical Design Engineers, and Technicians on a daily basis as projects are taken from the initial concept through to testing and then delivery. This will encompass all activities throughout the design process including:

• Windows software design in C++

• Understanding and interpreting customer requirements

• The invention of novel ideas (concepts) to meet customer requirements

• Critical appraisal of designs within the design team to ensure the robustness of the design

• PLC software design

• Electrical system design and layout using ePlan electrical software

• Support of technicians in the assembly and testing of your designs

• Work from documentation to create cables, build electrical units, build and test PC systems, and occasionally wire cabinets
