Generator and CHP Project Manager
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer with strong practical knowledge of CHP/Generator systems to join a well-regarded business based in Andover, Hampshire. The Generator and CHP Project Manager will join a thriving Generator, UPS Systems, Switchgear and CHP (Combined Heat and Power) business, in an industry with a substantial future. The successful engineer is likely to be an experienced but energetic person. A mature outlook is needed with the ability to work under pressure and within tight time frames.
Key requirements for an experienced CHP and Generator Project Manager/Engineer: A practical, mechanical and electrical background will be essential, along with a willingness to learn, as there will be a cross section of projects to run. Full training and backup support will be given to make a successful post.
Experience and Qualifications for a CHP and Generator Project Manager: Essential: a) Minimum of 5 years relevant experience as an engineer in the industry, or similar role. b) Strong practical knowledge of CHP/generator systems c) Strong practical electrical engineering knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems. d) Practical knowledge of high level software based control systems such as Comap / Deep Sea etc. e) IT skills, fluent with Outlook, Excel, and Word. Practical experience of using laptop based bespoke engine system analysis and control programmes such as Comap PC Suite / DSE Configuration Suite etc.
Desirable: - a) IT/Broadband Network knowledge b) Gas Safe qualification c) CAD experience or practical skill d) Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification e) IEE 17th or 18th Edition Qualified f) CSCS card g) Experience with building services plant (both electrical and mechanical) h) Knowledge of BMS protocol languages such as Modbus / Profibus / BACNet etc
Main responsibilities for the successful CHP and Generator engineer: You will need organisational and IT skills to take responsibility for a project from receipt of order stage, through delivery, installation and finally commissioning. This is mainly an office based management role (can also be field based at times) where you will be expected to:-
a) Attend hand-over meeting with the sales department to take ownership of the project
b) Liaise with our supply chain for ordering components and coordinating sub-contractors
c) Organise and attend client site technical meetings
d) Coordinate delivery and installation logistics
e) Oversee commissioning and make sure the project is complete
