A well-established Managed Services provider based in Bristol is looking to recruit an experienced IT Project Delivery Engineer ideally from a Managed Service background or have industry experience of IT-related B2B project delivery. Experience required for an IT Project Engineer -
The ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate success in previously delivering many of the following projects.
The Project Engineer will have acted single-handedly or been a key delivery engineer, on:
Office 365 & Microsoft 365 deployments (including migration of data from other systems, Email, Microsoft Licensing, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Skype)
Windows Server rollouts and upgrades (including virtualisation & multi-tenant environments)
Windows Server-based domain network rollouts (including workgroup-to-domain rollouts, from scratch, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory and SQL)
Storage and virtualization projects in Hyper-V
Windows client OS rollouts and upgrades
Experience in being an active member of a Projects team, or being a Project Manager or Project Lead is desirable.
An understanding and appreciation of Project delivery SLAs, as well as some grounding in ITIL, Prince2 or another Project Management standard is desirable.
Job role for an IT Project Engineer;
You will be a pivotal part of the IT Project team, focused on delivering IT projects to company standards and in line with the standard technologies supported. You will from time to time provide 3rd line support to customers and will offer technical advice in the format of consultancy services when needed.
The role will involve a mix of both office-based and client activity and will require some flexibility in both location and hours to deliver projects successfully.
Key job responsibilities for a Project Engineer;
Demonstrate experience of delivering technical projects (B2B)
Ability to communicate to clients at all levels and to articulate to non-technical personnel
Deliver billable project days remaining in control of the budget and project end date(s)
Implement new systems whilst avoiding unexpected downtime
Act as project lead on projects
Help clients with change-management activities
Design, test, install and monitor new systems under the scope of project responsibilities
Prepare documentation and present progress reports to customers and internal resource
Organise training for users and other colleagues
Provide 3rd line support
Be involved in sales and support, and where appropriate, maintain contact with client organisations

Client Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows 7 onwards, Mac OSX, Linux clients (occasionally).
Server Operating Systems: Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, 2016 Essentials, SBS and Standard (primarily), Linux, Plesk (Hosting), Microsoft Azure
Servers: SQL, IIS, Exchange (in 365), Active Directory + other Microsoft stack products, AD FS (desirable), Azure AD Connect
Virtualisation: Hyper-V (primarily), VMware (occasionally)
Software: Microsoft Office 365 (licensing, deployment, user and company management), Microsoft SQL Server, Altaro Hyper-V Backup, Veeam, MS Office (2013+), Adobe Creative Suite, Sage Accounts 50/200/variants
Networking & Hardware: Draytek, Netgear, Aruba, HPE Servers and Switches (Wired & WiFi), Fujitsu Servers, UPS + server peripherals of any kind, HP PCs.
Domains: Domain names, SSLs, DNS + nameservers, Certificate services
Connectivity + VOIP: Hosted VOIP, FTTC (+ADSL) + Ethernet connectivity support & project delivery
