A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Junior IT Technician to join a well-established business in Andover, Hampshire.
*This role has become available due to the current IT Technician being promoted within the company*
Key skills required for a Junior IT Support Technician:
Working knowledge of Computer hardware/software
Ideally some exposure to Windows Server 2012 R2
Microsoft Office 365
Ideally some basic knowledge of the following protocols: DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, FTP, SSH, Subnets, Default Gateway.
Ideally some basic knowledge of Switches, Wireless Access points/controller, routers, and Firewalls
Problem solving & the ability to work well with others
Duties required for a Junior IT Support Technician:
Maintaining a high degree of customer service for all 1st and 2nd line support.
Escalating more complex calls to the relevant internal/external IT support
Help in the day to day running of Microsoft servers, Linux server and company network
Assisting in setting up new equipment including Servers, Switches, PC’s, Laptops, Tablets and Phones, etc for office based staff and VPN users
General maintenance & Security of peripheral devices, escalating issues to internal/external support where necessary
Maintaining inventories of IT equipment
Assisting in sourcing new/replacement IT hardware/software with suppliers.
Assisting administration/Involvement of setting up new/existing external IT supports contracts.
Involvement in IT projects, Budgets and any other IT activities as required.
