A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced National Account Manager to join a well-established business, based in Andover.
A market-leading company is looking for a motivated and experienced National Account Manager to manage a portfolio of key UK customers, through building and maintaining strong relationships to deliver profitable and sustainable growth.
You will be accountable for leading the development and delivery of a targeted commercial strategy to drive business opportunities across a selection of key customer accounts, as well as seeking new opportunities identified through a strategic sales plan.
We are seeking a dynamic, customer focussed, commercially astute, professional NAM or SNAM with experience in driving profitable growth within the Retail sector. Key skills required for a National Account Manager:
Minimum of 5 years working in a sales and or marketing environment supplying the retail sector – DIY, Grocery, Department Stores, and the High Street chains
Strong relationship-building and Account Management skills
Clear and proven record of success in delivering targets
Demonstrate sound business acumen and commercial awareness
Display a good understanding of sales drivers in a Retail environment
Customer focussed relationship builder, influencing both internal and external stakeholders
Excellent negotiation skills
A team player with strong interpersonal skills
Strong and confident presentation skills
Numerate, articulate and detail orientated with the ability to analyse and prioritise effectively
PC literacy – Excel, Word and Powerpoint
Key responsibilities for a Senior National Account Manager:
Responsible for the planning, management and delivery of effective sales strategies that meet revenue and profit targets across your portfolio of customers.
Work with the Director to develop trading strategies through the creation and sell in of joint business plans to achieve annual fiscal targets and long-term objectives as set by the business.
Effectively co-ordinate cross-functional plans to deliver business objectives aligned to customer joint business plans.
Demonstrate an in depth understanding of the customer’s business, including the operating systems, processes and requirements of the individual Accounts.
Create, build and maintain cross-functional relationships acting as the conduit between the customer’s business and our team.
Negotiate and manage pricing and trading agreements to deliver annual profitability targets.
Leverage relationship, product breadth and insight to develop new opportunities for incremental contribution within your customer base.
Work proactively to identify gaps within annual business plan and develop gap fill plans accordingly.
Generate timely reports based on analysis and insights, utilising the information to drive continuous improvement and increase sales.
Prepare annual and interim budget and forecast reports.
Manage product life cycles within the Accounts to ensure timely withdrawal of under achieving lines and replacement with new or alternative products.
Prepare and present new ideas, range proposals and trading plans to customers to support the joint business plans.
Monitor account specific stock levels to ensure volumes reflect forecast demand requirements.
Maintain detailed records of Account communications.
Monitor Account payment performance and assist in dispute reconciliation.
