A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Purchasing Assistant to join a reputable business in Andover, Hampshire.
Key responsibilities for a Purchasing Assistant:
Following up enquiries with suppliers for large/special stock orders prior to order placement
Place orders with suppliers for stock & non-stock products
Follow up orders with suppliers for delivery dates
Notify Internal Account Managers & Operations Manager of updates to supplier deliveries
Monitor stock levels to maintain availability and cut out obsolete lines
Ensure goods coming in are to suitable quality standards
Entering new products on ERP system & updating team
Update ERP system with accurate cost prices & maintain GP levels across product lines
Make suggestions to Marketing of overstocks/end of line products for promotion to clear
Key skills required for a Purchasing Assistant:
Experience working in a Purchasing related role
Any knowledge of ERP system would be a huge advantage
Customer Service Skills
Computer Literate
Time/Task Management Skills
Communication Skills
Good phone skills
