Key skills required for a Warehouse Operative:
To be successful in this role you will have some of the following skills and experience and the desire to develop in other areas:
Experience working within a warehouse environment – either pick/pack or goods in
An organised and methodical approach to work.
Able to follow warehouse processes and procedures.
Attention to detail, able to complete repetitive tasks to a high standard.
Able to work independently and as part of a large, diverse team.
Able to maintain an awareness of their working environment and work to Health and Safety standards.
A good level of physical fitness – including being able to walk, stand, bend and lift for long periods of time.
A good level of spoken English language.
Ideally, you’ll have experience operating forklift (counterbalance/reach) or VNA trucks – if not then you will be given in-house training to get your licence and complete conversions on relevant existing licences.
As a Warehouse Operative you will work within one of two teams: - Goods In – receiving a high volume of deliveries, ensuring they are checked in and stored accurately and safely. - Despatch – ensuring the accurate picking and packing of a variety of single and multi- line orders. This organisation uses a variety of Counterbalance, Reach and VNA trucks within their Andover site. They also have a new Warehouse Management System, and you’ll have the opportunity to help shape their operations using this from the outset.
