Data Engineer - SQL Server - Azure


An interesting and NEW opportunity has become available for an experienced Data Engineer with strong SQL Server skills that have managed solutions based on SSIS. 

We are looking for a Data Engineer with detailed knowledge and experience using Big Data solutions, especially Azure Data Lake, for analytics of unstructured, semi-structured and structured data. 


Key skills required for a SQL Data Engineer;

  • You will need to have detailed knowledge and experience using data warehouse solutions, especially Azure SQL Data Warehouse, for enterprise analysis of structured data. 

  • You will also be experienced in data and trend analysis, to understand the drivers behind the business and the need for change. 

  • You will have strong analytical skills, to understand information such as transactions and behaviour, to help identify opportunities and make recommendations. 

  • Any previous experience of analysing customer journey processes and improvements e.g. customer portals, digitisation, mobile applications, etc. would be a huge advantage.

The job role for a Data Analyst will include; You will work with stakeholders to continually assess and redefine data technology, to support changing data patterns and business use cases, bridging the gap between Data Engineering, Business, and Products, by constantly collaborating to understand data needs. 

  • You will study and understand the business processes and applications, including their effect on data and reporting, to apply the knowledge designing the Data Lake, data warehouses. 

  • You will be responsible for designing, building, & supporting components of the Data Lake and data warehouses including extraction, such as ETL, environments; databases; dashboards; filters; fields; etc. 

  • You will design, implement, QA and deploy data loading and transformations, to enhance the data eco system to load, analyse and archive transactional data.

  • You will create processes for maintaining or/and capturing metadata and assemble statistics and performs analyses, to make recommendations. 

  • You will be expected to build solutions to automate high volumes of data analysis, where necessary solving data volume and scaling challenges.
